Conditions of APEL Membership
- Members must have successfully qualified from one of the main
psychodynamic psychotherapy trainings lasting at least three years. Their
training body will be represented in the psycho-analytic & psycho-dynamic
section of the UKCP or with BPC. Members will be registered personally with
either the PP section of the UKCP, or with BPC.
- Members agree to keep at least one space for a low fee paying patient
wherever possible.
- Members are considered to be bound by the Code of Ethics of their own
training institution.
Aims and objectives for the Association

To be seen to set the highest possible professional standards
in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

To provide assessments and a referral network for individuals
considering therapy in East London.

To offer supervision and consultation to interested
individuals and professionals in East London.

To promote public awareness about psychoanalytic psychotherapy
in the area.

To advance the professional knowledge and skills of its
members and to provide support in the exercising of their profession.

To provide a locally identifiable point of contact to
referrers and individuals looking for psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
